MSI - So Money :Octo Bills:

Original version of the design I did for the Hot Topic Exclusive shirt for the band Mindless Self Indulgence

Art Refrences and the Human Body

This collection is made up mostly of photography focusing on the amazing Human Body and its natural beauty. Contents are mostly all mature.
These are all very inspiring to me and I find as great references as an artist in studying the body! Cheers to the artists, models and photographers!

I am back from Saboten-Con 2!
And waiting for me at home were the new albums from Super 8 Bit Bothers (Brawl), Rammstein (Libre ist fur Alle Da), The Brazen Heads (Curse of the Hag) and Trans-Siberian Orchestra (Night Castle)!! So much new music!!

Artist Ally was alot of fun although a bit slower moving than last year.
Still, I sold alot of prints and had a few commission requests (very opposite from last year also).
We had Gothcupcake and my friends at Cake Shop as neighbors in Artists Ally with the awesome ~kiche sharing table space with me.
Overall it was a very enjoyable experience!
I got to hang out with a bunch of familiar faces and good friends from previous years, all of which agree we really really need to hang out together more often between cons.

Got to meet up again with *yayacosplay (who I missed having an opportunity to copslay Resident Evil with) and American voice actor Steve Blum who happens to voice two of the characters I am most known for cosplaying, Mugen (Samurai Champloo) and Spike Spiegel (Cowboy Bebop). Last time I saw either of them was at Anime Expo in 2007 at Long Beach Convention Center!
Many thanks to the guest relation folk who unexpectedly pulled me away from my art table and surprisingly brought me to the front of the Voice Actor Panel (also featuring voice actors Chuck Huber and Vic Mignogna) where Steve got up from his place for answering fan questions so he can say "Hi" to me.

~Feawen-Northwood, her sister and I got to have our pictures taken with Steve Blum (Spike Spiegel's voice in Cowboy Bebop) which was an awesome thing.
She had to go back home to get various pieces of her badass Faye Valentine cosplay and then rushed back to the con to catch a chance for a unique Bebop photo-op!!
This was her 2nd con as Faye Valentine.
It was probably a very amusing sight since we were cosplaying Spike and Faye and playing Blackjack for M&Ms when Steve Blum approached my art table late Saturday evening haha.
Look how awesome we are:

When not selling my prints I often found myself helping out my friends where needed... mostly heavy lifting and decorating anything that was too high for anyone else to reach thanks to my height (I helped set up the Lolita Tea Party and Halloween Dance to name a couple).

Saboten Con was held in a pretty decent area this year with lots of options all around for shopping and food.
I got to indulge in some In N Out Burger for my lunch and dinner for a day, IHop for dinner one night (Amazingly slow service), Village Inn for breakfast and the last night of the con I went out to Fibber Magee's for some good Irish eats and 2 pints of Guinness! From there I went straight to Olive Garden to hang out with the bulk of our convention group for one last meal (which I was too full for) before everyone went there separate ways back home.

And I just got out of the shower, my pizza is ready to be removed from the oven and I return to work in just about 2 hours now.

My pictures are here: [link]

I'll have other pictures from friends posted when I get them!

Things I Learned from this Con
~ It was ALMOST a Furry con... seriously there was a startling increase in Furry cosplayers complete with there humping/yeiffing or whatever the F____ they call it.

~ While last year I sold a ton of commissions, mostly Naruto related or Batman's Joker, and sold out of my Mindless Self Indulgence art (a href=\"http://ToshiMustgrind.deviantart.com/art/MSI-Bomb-This-Track-91517598\">\"Bomb This Track" in this gallery), this year I sold many more prints and only one of my MSI print.

~ Steve Blum and his wife were staying 4 doors down from our room. I wish the introductions were a bit more formal but I was being weighed down by a backpack and 2 other luggage bags while I was trying to check out from the room.

~ I may cosplay The Doctor from Doctor Who (David Tennant), an Elf from Lord of the Rings and am being asked to do either or both Piccolo or Tien from Dragonball (I was planning on Yamcha)

~ Apparently I can handle the weirdos pretty good and it's considered blasphemous if I go an entire con without cosplaying Spike Spiegel

~ Arriving to a convention dressed as Spike, or being anywhere close to my car as Spike results in ALOT of people saying how the car, a 1984 Buick LeSabre, looks like something Spike would drive (or something to that effect)

Sorry for the blandness of the journal, I am still tired and feeling a bit "blah"; returning to normal living (haha(.

Cosplay I wore to the con:
Spike Spiegel
Chris Redfield (Code: Veronica)
Mugen

More to come soon!!

Woo!
Good to hear from ya!!
Where you the one that left early or stayed for the whole con?

--
You got red on you
:iconmarianblack83:
I was the one who left early. The other chick was the one who actually runs Gothcupcake. I have my own shop on Etsy and everything, I was just there for moral support and to check out the convention and see if it was something I'd want to do in the future. It was quite a bit of fun, especially since our booth mates were kind of attractive... ;p

Ah alright. This was my second Saboten con.
There are alot of you folk making up cute 'lil jewlery bits, eh? :)

You got red on you
:iconmarianblack83:
Ha, I suppose there are. I'd draw and paint if I could, but I'm average at best. My brother is a fantastic artist, but he does nothing with it. It infuriates me. If I could draw like him, I'd work for Disney or do my own comics or something. He's been a really good artist since he was young. I envy those of you who are talented with a pencil.
